The Vancouver Police Department says it has concluded its investigation into the death of an eight-year-old girl who fell from a high-rise balcony last month and determined criminality was not a factor.
"The November 11 fall was the result of a tragic accident," Sgt. Steve Addison said in a news release Thursday.
"Vancouver Police extends its condolences to the child’s family, friends, and everyone impacted by this horrible tragedy."

Officers were called to a high-rise residential building near Nelson Street and Expo Boulevard around 2:30 p.m. PT on Nov. 11 after the child fell from a balcony.
She was pronounced dead at the scene, despite life-saving efforts from first responders, police said at the time.
The child attended school in Squamish, where more than 150 people gathered last month to hold a funeral for her.
