N.W.T. RCMP say they've found wanted Fort Smith man

RCMP in Fort Smith, N.W.T., say they've found and arrested a man after public alert and warrant were issued for his arrest earlier this week.

In a news release Friday, RCMP say they found Terron Stevens, 32, on Thursday at a residence in the community.

On Jan. 4, police received a report that someone had been assaulted and robbed with a firearm at a home in the community.

"The victim received serious injuries and was flown from the community for medical treatment," the release says.

Stevens is charged with robbery with a firearm, assault, assault with a weapon, aggravated assault, two counts of possession of a weapon and two counts of uttering threats.

His charges are related to the Jan. 4 incident and a separate Jan. 3 incident, RCMP said.

Stevens is in custody and was to appear in court Friday.
