The new ownership of Peavey Mart is planning to reopen two Saskatchewan locations this spring after stores across the country were closed last year.
In a news release posted to its website, the hardware retailer announced it will be resurrecting stores in Assiniboia and Yorkton in March 2026. Another location is also expected this spring in Red Deer, joining four others that were relaunched in Alberta this past December.
The new additions would make it seven stores in total after Peavey Mart shut down all 90 of its locations across Canada in 2025

“The initial store opening plan included an eventual reopening of stores in Saskatchewan,” Meagan Parisian, leader of marketing and e-commerce, said in the release.
“The locations that were chosen by the ownership group are reflective of a number of factors these communities hold, including the strength of the stores in these communities, an ease of access to the previously held storefronts, as well as how quickly we could expedite hiring and launch operations in the locations chosen.”
No decisions or reopening timelines have been made about any other locations, added the release.
Hiring is underway for the new stores, with job postings for retail supervisors and customer service associates up on its website.

Peavey Mart closed stores across the country last year after filing for creditor protection in January. The Canadian hardware chain first opened in 1967.
After an acquisition of its brand by a numbered company in April, Peavey Mart later announced a planned comeback in October, beginning with a small-scale rollout of stores in Western Canada.
Peavey Mart previously had 12 Saskatchewan locations in Regina, Saskatoon, Prince Albert, North Battleford, Humboldt, Kindersley, Moose Jaw, Swift Current, Assiniboia, Yorkton, Weyburn and Estevan.
