Longueuil police say the alleged acts were committed on the South Shore and in the Greater Montreal area between 2020 and his arrest.
To date, police have identified at least 30 people as potential victims and believe there could be more.
According to police, some victims were approached in person, including a young girl who was approached in a business in the Longueuil area and near a school.
Other victims were approached on dating sites like sugardaddy.com and secretbenefits.com where Croteau is alleged to have used the pseudonym Papadamour, police said.
"We have reason to believe that some of them were filmed without their knowledge," Longueuil police said in the news release.
