Kingston Police did not release the man's name or say what he'd been charged with, despite the fact he was scheduled to appear in bail court Friday.
Police said they're still gathering evidence and that there's no apparent risk to public safety. No one else was injured, they said.
A spokesperson told CBC said they hoped to share more information in the future.
