Three men are facing multiple drug and firearms charges after police seized roughly $37,000 worth of cocaine, more than 89,000 contraband cigarettes and a loaded handgun from a home in southwest Edmonton, last month.

On Nov. 25, the EPS drug and gang enforcement section (EDGE), along with the EPS tactical section, executed a search warrant at a home in the area of 214 Street and 49 Avenue, said police in a Tuesday news release.

Officers seized 632 grams of cocaine, which police estimate the value to be $37,000, just over 89,000 illegal cigarettes, a loaded handgun and roughly $34,000 in cash.

Police also seized drug trafficking items, cell phones, scales, baggies, a 2020 Land Rover Range Rover and a 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander.

Police say three men were in the home at the time of the search warrant and were arrested.

Cengizhan Yurtcu, 18, Havanna Green, 22, and Uighuy Tulake, 22, are all facing charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000 and possession of a loaded illegal firearm.

“This was another successful operation by EDGE, who continue to target and investigate those who profit from drugs and violence in the community,” said Staff Sgt. Marco Antonio, with the EPS organized crime branch.

“The ages of these accused are particularly concerning, and we encourage anyone — especially youth — to make choices that avoid criminality.  Involvement in drug trafficking and gang-related crime can lead to devastating consequences, not only for the participants but for our community at large.”
