The bodies of a man and two dogs were found after a Boxing Day house fire in Bathurst.

The Bathurst Fire Department responded to the blaze at the corner of Gosnell Street and Patterson Crescent around 11:45 p.m. Friday, according to a Saturday news release from the city.

The house was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived to battle the fire.

After extinguishing the blaze, firefighters entered the home where they found the bodies of the man and two dogs, the city said.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, but is under investigation.
