One Ottawa firefighter received a minor injury and crews needed roughly 90 minutes to extinguish a blaze in a large barn near North Gower on Christmas Day.
Ottawa Fire Services said a caller to 911 reported that a neighbouring barn in the 6200 block of Fourth Line Road was fully engulfed in flames at about 3:35 p.m. on Thursday.
Because the “large footprint commercial structure” was located in an area without fire hydrants, crews used a shuttle system from a nearby source to fight the flame, a news release said.
