Céline Dion's Grinch schedule doesn't allow time for an event with the Whos

Céline Dion would rather spend Christmas all by herself.

The Québécois pop star has made few public appearances since being diagnosed with stiff person syndrome in 2022, but stepped into the limelight in a full Grinch costume to spread holiday cheer.

On Dec. 24, Dion shared an Instagram video re-creating a scene from the classic Christmas movie How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

“The nerve of those Whos. Inviting me on such short notice. Even if I wanted to go, my schedule wouldn’t allow it,” she says, sitting by a fireplace with a miniature dog on her lap wearing reindeer horns.

“Four o’clock, exercise my voice. 4:30, wake my children up. 5, solve world hunger — tell no one. 5:30, jazzercize. 6:30, dinner with me. I can’t cancel that again! 7, wrestle with my creative ideas. I’m booked!”

Dion adds, “Of course if I bumped my creative ideas to 9, I’ll still have time to lay in bed and scroll TikTok videos endlessly. Or, I can just simply wish everyone Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Boring!”

She finishes the video singing, “When I was young, I never needed anyone. All by myself…”
