Massage therapist charged with sexual assault after incident involving client, police say

A Calgary massage therapist has been charged with sexual assault following an incident involving a client last month, police say.

The victim received a massage at Massage Addict in the southeast Calgary community of Mahogany on Nov. 20, Calgary police said in a news release issued Friday.

“It is believed that during the appointment the massage therapist touched the victim in a sexual manner without consent,” police said.

Following an investigation, police charged 36-year-old Dioscoro Tulop of Calgary with one count of sexual assault.

Tulop is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 11

“We thank Massage Addict for their co-operation throughout this investigation,” said the Calgary Police Service in its written statement.

Police encourage anyone who believes they are a victim of sexual assault to report it, even if many years have passed since the incident. There is no time limit on reporting a sexual assault in Canada.
