A 49-year-old cyclist is dead after being hit by a Toyota Prius on Wellington Road 86, just north of Guelph, Sunday evening.
Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police say officers and paramedics were called to the area between Wellington Road 30 and Wellington Road 51/Ariss Valley Road at 6:15 p.m. Sunday for reports of a collision.
The 49-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The occupants of the Toyota Prius were not injured.

Police continue to investigate and are asking anyone with information or who may have dashcam footage of the area around the time of the collision to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
Wellington Road 86 becomes Elmira Road N. as it crosses the boundary into Guelph. In August, a 37-year-old man who was cycling in the area of Elmira Road N. and Massey Road was killed when he was hit by a garbage truck.
A 37-year-old Guelph man has been charged with careless driving causing death in that case.
