Three people have been charged after a  man was found beaten and unconscious in a ditch near E.C. Row Expressway last week.

According to police, officers went to the Windsor Regional Hospital's Ouellette campus on Saturday after an unidentified man was admitted to the hospital, unconscious and with "serious" injuries.

According to police, the man had been found in a ditch in the 600 block of E.C. Row Avenue West, which borders E.C. Row Expressway near Dougall Avenue, by a passerby.

The man has since been identified, police say, but he remains in the hospital.

After an investigation, police say the man was allegedly assaulted with a "blunt weapon" at a home in the 1700 block of McKay Avenue before he was taken and left in the ditch.

Windsor police arrested three suspects at a home on McEwan Avenue on Tuesday. Two men and one woman have been charged with varying counts of kidnapping, forcible confinement, aggravated assault and breaking and entering.

The investigation is ongoing and police ask anyone with information to contact the major crimes unit or CrimeStoppers to remain anonymous.
