Arabnews24.ca:Tuesday 7 February 2023 06:55 AM: BERLIN – Egyptians Commercial Minister Plenipotentiary Abdel Aziz el Sherif said Egypt will participate in Fruit Logistica 2023 Berlin, which will be held from February 8 to 10 in the German capital, Berlin.
The leading trade show for the global fresh produce business has relaunched after a one-year, pandemic-induced break, bringing together over 40,000 quality buyers and trade visitors from around 130 countries, and more than 2,000 exhibitors from 87 countries.
In statements to MENA on Tuesday, the minister plenipotentiary said that more than 53 Egyptian companies will participate in the largest specialized exhibition and market for vegetables and fruits.
Chairman of Agricultural Export Council Abdel Hamid Demerdash said that Egypt’s exports of agricultural crops amounted to dlrs 2.7 billion, at a total of 4.3 million tons, during the export season ending 2021/2022.
He further noted that fresh fruit exports topped the agricultural sector’s exports in Egypt for the 2021-2022 season, amounting to nearly dlrs 1.4 billion.
Egypt’s exports include citrus fruits, grapes, strawberries and pomegranates, he added.
