Bid to boost air transport co-operation with China

Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Abbas Helmi discussed  on Thursday with Liao Liqiang, Chinese Ambassador in Cairo, means to enhance aspects of co-operation between the two countries in the field of air transport.

Minister Abbas affirmed the strength of historical relations between Egypt and China, which are witnessing remarkable development during the current period.

He pointed out that the Ministry of Civil Aviation and all its subsidiaries are keen to support cooperation and partnerships with the Chinese side.

The two sides reviewed a number of important files to establish mechanisms for strengthening joint coordination between the two countries. They also discussed the strategy of the Egyptian aviation sector and the current projects being carried out to attract more air, tourism and commercial traffic between Cairo and Beijing.

Egypt is an important tourist destination for the Chinese people, the minister said.

For his part, Ambassador Liao Liqiang praised the great development of the Egyptian-Chinese relations at all levels and in all fields during the past years.
