Egypt in 89th rank in 2022 GII – Higher education min.

The Egyptian Higher education and Scientific Research Minister Ayman Ashour announced that Egypt came in the 89th rank among the 132 economies featured in the 2022 Global Innovation Index (GII) issued by the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO).

Egypt came in the 94th rank in the same index in 2021.

In a press release, the minister said that Egypt’s progress is linked to the indicators of scientific research, information technology and communications.

The Global Innovation Index (GII) ranks world economies according to their innovation capabilities. It consists of roughly 80 indicators, grouped into innovation inputs and outputs, the GII aims to capture the multi-dimensional facets of innovation.
