Arabnews24.ca:Monday 8 August 2022 12:20 PM: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi called for strengthening the process of localising the industries with all its components and the transfer of modern technology, which includes the training of Egyptian human cadres on manufacturing and maintenance work, in order to create more job opportunities and support the economy through the exploitation of national feeder industries as well as the introduction of industry products with prices lower than their imported peers.

The president’s remarks came as he met on Monday Major General Walid Abul-Magd, Director of the Armed Forces National Service Projects Authority, in the presence of Eng Ahmed El-Sewedy, CEO of El-Sewedy Electric Group, Eng. Ahmed Odeh, President of El-Sewedy Electric Company for Infrastructure and Eng Wael Daoud, Executive Vice President of El-Sewedy Electric Group of Companies, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.

During the meeting, the president also directed the expansion of exploring more areas for the localisation of industries, especially those related to infrastructure projects, given the size and spread of these projects nationwide.

The president also reviewed the efforts of the National Service Projects Authority, in partnership with the private sector, to localise the industries, especially in the sectors of major development projects, including modern irrigation devices, which contributes to maximising the value of the local component in that industry, and then reducing the import bill.

The efforts to localise the components of water control systems and smart agriculture, which depend on modern technology to calculate the amount of water needed by crops and the quality of environmental conditions, were also reviewed.

Such a step, the spokesman said, will increase production, improve its quality and rationalise the consumption of irrigation water.
