Arabnews24.ca:Friday 27 January 2023 05:45 PM: A serving member of the British Army has been charged with terror and explosives offences, the Metropolitan Police said.

The charges against the 21-year-old relate to two incidents in Staffordshire in August 2021 and January this year.

Daniel Abed Khalif, of Beaconside, Stafford, remains in police custody.

He is accused of eliciting or attempting to elicit information of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism in the area of Beaconside in August 2021.

He is also accused of placing an article with the intention of inducing in another a belief that the said article was likely to explode or ignite and thereby cause personal injury or damage to property in connection with an incident in the same area earlier this month.

Khalif is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court tomorrow.
