Woman who parked in accessible spot without permit arrested on drug-related charges: Brantford police

A woman who parked her car in an accessible parking spot without a permit, and fell asleep there, prompted a Brantford police investigation Saturday that led to her arrest.

Brantford police say she was parked outside a local business and arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle by drugs.

She also faces charges related to having an unauthorized firearm and drug trafficking, as well as breaching release conditions for previous charges, say police.

Police impounded the vehicle she was driving for seven days.

They also determined she was not licensed to operate a motor vehicle and didn't have insurance.

She has also been charged under the Highway Traffic Act, Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act, Cannabis Control Act and Liquor Licence and Control Act.

Police say she remains in custody.
