Environment Canada is forecasting more snow for Ottawa and western Quebec this week.

The forecast calls for two to four centimetres of snow and a chance of freezing drizzle overnight in Ottawa, followed by another 10 to 15 centimetres of snow Wednesday before it tapers off.

A snowfall warning is in place for the southern Outaouais region, with 15 to 20 centimetres expected to fall Wednesday and Thursday.

The warning is yellow, or the lowest on the weather service's new three-level scale. It covers an area south of communities including Duhamel and Gracefield, stretching east to the Montreal area.

A special weather statement has been issued for the rest of the Outaouais where 10 to 15 centimetres of snow could fall Wednesday and Thursday.

Environment Canada's new warning scale rises from yellow to orange for significantly disruptive weather events, and red for dangerous conditions.
