A 16-year-old died after the car she was in struck a pole on Friday evening in Quebec City.
In a news release, Quebec City police spokesperson William Robitaille said officers were called at around 8:20 p.m. on Friday to the intersection of 1st Avenue and 54th Street to respond to an incident involving a vehicle that had hit a pole.
The vehicle was carrying five people, all between the ages of 16 and 19, wrote Robitaille.

One of the passengers, 16, was taken to hospital, where her condition was deemed life-threatening. Her death was confirmed Saturday morning by Quebec City police.
The other four occupants, including the driver, were also transported to hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
The 19-year-old driver was arrested for dangerous driving on Friday, but following a meeting with investigators, Robitaille said no charges will be laid against him ''for the time being.''
A security perimeter was set up Friday around the intersection where the incident took place to protect the scene.
According to Robitaille, 1st Avenue was closed in both directions and investigators were called to the scene to reconstruct the fatal event and gather information.
