RCMP say officers are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found in southeast Saskatchewan as a homicide.

According to a news release issued Thursday, they received a report of a potential homicide on April 24.

It led their major crimes unit to begin the search of the landfill in the community of Oxbow, about 250 kilometres from Regina. However, no human remains were found.

Her body was found around noon Thursday in a rural location in the Rural Municipality of Moose Mountain.

The release said the Saskatchewan Coroners Service is working to identify the woman.

Soon after, they arrested 27-year-old Tyler Shaw from Gainsborough, Sask., and charged him with accessory after the fact to murder.

Shaw is scheduled to make his first appearance in Regina Provincial Court on April 26.

Another man was taken into custody in Oxbow on Thursday for further investigation.

RCMP said they don't believe there is any further threat to public safety, but alerted people in and around Oxbow and the White Bear First Nation to see more police presence as they continue with the investigation.

They are also asking anyone with information about the homicide to report it to contact them.

Information can also be reported to Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222- 8477 or on its website.
