With the return of the polar vortex to North America just around the corner, Eastern Canada will be one of the regions impacted by its frigid-cold air.

For Quebec and the East Coast, it could be some of the coldest temperatures they have seen in years. Temperatures for the current winter season have dropped down into the middle of the -20s for some major cities across Eastern Canada, but frigid temperatures are in sight as the polar vortex heads eastward.

The polar vortex will track east in behind a low-pressure system, which will open the floodgates for the cold air to dive as far east as St. John’s, N.L., and even as far south as Texas and Florida.
