A 38-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman are facing a combined 130 drug trafficking and weapons charges following a police raid on a St. John's home Thursday evening.

According to a police news release, RNC and RCMP officers from the eastern region federal policing unit used a tactical armoured vehicle and tear gas while entering a home on Cashin Avenue, around 6 p.m. Thursday.

The release says officers seized what they believe were numerous drugs from the home — including cocaine, oxycodone, morphine, methadone, methylphenidate, clonazepam and suspected fentanyl — along with a rifle and ammo, pepper spray, brass knuckles, a stun gun and a switchblade.

Officers took the woman into custody without incident, police said, while the man fled the home and was caught by a police dog.

The man faces 76 charges following the raid. He was also on parole with an outstanding arrest warrant.

The woman faces 54 charges.

Both appeared in court on Friday, police said.
