Environment min, SCA chairman probe means to back blue economy, develop lakes

CAIRO – Egyptian Environment Minister Yasmin Fouad has discussed with Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) Osama Rabea means to strengthen bilateral co-operation on domains related to environment and the goals of sustainable development.

During their meeting on Thursday, they probed means to enhance blue economy and achieve integrated management of coastal areas.

Both sides also reviewed the latest developments on developing Egyptian lakes.

Fouad underlined the need to boost co-operation between the Environment Ministry and the SCA to raise awareness about blue economy and help counter the negative impacts of climate change.
