Three people are dead following three separate collisions in eastern Ontario and western Quebec over the weekend.

The latest crash happened around 10:30 p.m. Sunday. Emergency crews were called to Albion and Mitch Owens roads for a single-vehicle collision.

A 55-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, Ottawa paramedics told CBC. Firefighters had to extricate one person from the vehicle.

A 50-year-old man, 40-year-old woman and 22-year-old woman were taken to The Ottawa Hospital's Civic campus trauma centre in serious but stable condition, paramedics said.

The crash follows the death of a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle in Ottawa's south end early Sunday morning.

Officers were called to 8th Line Road near Walker Road in Metcalfe at 2:37 a.m.

A man in his 30s was was declared dead at the scene, according to the United Counties of Prescott and Russell paramedic service, which responded to the call.

Ottawa police are asking for anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage to contact them.

In a third crash Saturday morning, a 51-year-old woman from the Laurentians died in a head-on crash on Highway 50 near Lachute, Que., around 130 kilometres east of downtown Ottawa.

Quebec provincial police said preliminary details suggest a westbound vehicle crossed the median and struck the woman's car around 5 a.m. Saturday.

She was rushed to hospital where she later died.

A 35-year-old man was arrested for impaired driving, the Sûreté du Québec said.
